Hinckley Fire Museum, 2011.
On my mini-vacation I had the pleasure of visiting the Hinckley Fire Museum in northern Minnesota.
On September 1, 1894, a fire raged in East Central Minnesota. Within four hours, over 300,000 acres, 480 square miles of Minnesota was in smoldering ruins and claiming the lives of over 400 people.
The red glow from this fire was visible in Mason City, Iowa and from central Wisconsin to the South Dakota border.
